Rose is a six year old Missouri Fox Trotter mare out of Jester’s Charming Legend. She is just barely 14 hands tall but has a big heart and a big motor. She was trail rode for several years on our farm and has kept our daughter, Rebekah, safe on all the trail rides. Last year was our first year showing Rose, and she has vast potential as a show horse. We just had her to the veterinarian last week to get her Coggins test, Vaccinations and a full physical exam so we could list her with 100% certainty that she is sound and ready to make someone a great show horse, trail horse, or even broodmare. Our vet is willing to communicate his findings if you would like to talk with him. Rose is well above average quality and has the capability to win championships as well as reproduce champions. *Full disclosure* She does get a little sour when being trained for shows, but does not act bad! she just takes some convincing to have her give 100% effort. She prefers to trail ride, but she is so talented that we can’t help but show her. Rose has the most beautiful summer coat, calling her a sorrel does not do it justice. She deserves her own color category, I would name it “Metallic Auburn”. Rose is not spooky on trails and oftentimes has to take the lead when we are riding with our younger, less experienced horses. Although Rebekah is young she is a confident rider and has ridden Rose on many trail rides by herself. Putting hundreds of miles on her, always accompanied by her best friend, Piney, the black lab, that you see in some of the videos. Rose has been hauled all over in various trailers, she has seen many things and handles new situations well. We have a few small Fox Trotters on our farm and although Rose is the smallest of them she is by far the strongest. To train her to show last year, I (Rebekah’s Dad) had to ride her every day. I am way too big to ride a horse this size so I gave her many breaks and was cognizant of how she was holding up. She is tough, and never feels like she is wearing down or getting tired like some of our other smaller horses. On long trail rides she stays fresh and you do not have to pedal her. Rebekah is only 13 years old but at 5’7 she is as big as an adult and Rose carries her well with no issues. We are open to anyone who can make it out to our farm to come meet Rose and go on a ride before the sale is over. We have a bed and breakfast on my parents farm just down the road that is brand new and really nice, so if you are from out of town you can stay right here with the horses. If it is too far to travel to come see Rose please call with any questions. If you are an active bidder and you want to know information that is not shown in a video we will try to shoot more footage upon request.
